Youth Groups
We provide activities and workshops for youth groups to liven up existing provision. We are used to working in areas of high deprivation and bring all of the equipment and run the activities.
How we help
We will support young people aged 10-17 years old with a key focus on those that are in the secondary tier of need.
Our activities will give young people the opportunity to take part in exciting, supervised and fun sporting and physical activities. These will be delivered by experienced and positive role models.
Activities will include archery, Nerf, bubble football, Frisbee games, Combat Archery, Tug of War and Zorbing. We will use these activities as the ‘hook’ to engage the young people in small group workshops aimed working on areas such as improving self-esteem, making positive choices, how to avoid pro-offending behaviour, managing conflict, personal development and how to stay safe and also sports-based mentoring through a series of 1:1 meetings.
The group sessions will also help the young people improve positive interactions with other members of the group, feel positive about themselves and others. We actively encourage participants to take a lead in the sessions and we value their input in co-creating the programme of activities under supervision. We will also give the young people sports volunteer opportunities as part of our work in the community.
