We are SIVIK ACTIVE CIC, a not for profit community interest company registered with
Companies House in February 2021. We are protected by an asset lock, as shown in
our Articles of Association which means our assets can only ever be used for the benefit
of the community. We help people overcome barriers to exercise such as low
self-esteem, negative previous experiences, and personal perception we also deliver
non mainstream physical activity aimed at bringing communities together and reducing
isolation. All of which are issues that have been exacerbated by the pandemic.
Founded by Andy Phillips in 2021, the company was setup as direct response to the COVID 19 pandemic, to work with organisations within the Youth Justice System and to improve communities.
Company Founder, Andy has 20 years teaching experience and is PGCE qualified. During his time as a lecturer, he taught Public Services, Citizenship, Sport and employability skills across a broad range of levels. Andy has completed training to deliver PREVENT strategy.
We have a range of exciting activities that as a vehicle
to engage people to work on specific outcomes
such as reducing crime and anti-social behaviour or to improve mental health, well-being and physical activity levels. We also use the activities to run workshops alongside on personal development.
We have previously received grants from North Yorkshire County Council, City of York Council, Goole Youth Action and the Two Ridings Foundation to carry out work in deprived areas in the Yorkshire and East Riding regions and across the North East of England.
